Common questions.
What does an SNR value of 19 dB indicate?
SNR (Single Number Rating) is the European measure of how much an earplug reduces noise, in decibels. An SNR of 19 dB means the plug lowers the overall sound reaching your ear by roughly 19 decibels, the deepest reduction in our range and the figure for klar focus. Because decibels are logarithmic, that’s a substantial cut, enough to turn a noisy open office into a calm working volume while still letting nearby speech through. We list the US equivalent (NRR) on every product too. Higher isn’t automatically better; the right number depends on whether you want to block noise out or simply soften it.
How is klar connect different from klar focus?
They’re built for two different jobs. klar connect (SNR 19) is the lighter, everyday option, designed for busy shared spaces and non-stop wear. It takes the edge off overstimulation while keeping conversation clear and easy to catch, so you stay present in the moment rather than shut off from the people around you. klar focus (SNR 23) goes deeper, the strongest noise reduction in the lineup, built for concentration in open offices and coworking spaces. It filters out distracting background noise so your mind has room to think, while keeping the speech that matters subtle but audible. The simplest way to choose: connect to stay connected, focus to go heads-down.
Will I still be able to hear conversations and notifications?
Yes. Klar uses dual-filter technology that lowers disruptive noise without sealing you off from your surroundings, so speech stays clear and you stay aware. That’s the core difference from cheap foam plugs, which muffle everything indiscriminately. The amount of awareness varies by product: connect and sound balance keep voices clear, focus keeps speech subtle but audible, and sound protect leans toward stronger attenuation for the loudest environments while still keeping you aware enough to talk and move.
How long can I wear them at a time?
All day. The soft “Pillow and Pill” design, soft on the outside, precise within, is engineered for long sessions, whether that’s an 8-hour workday or a full night of live sound. Each pair comes with multiple ear-tip sizes so you can find a natural, pressure-free fit. If you feel any discomfort, it’s almost always a tip-size issue, so try the other sizes in the box to dial in the seal.
What does "DEC Delft tested" actually mean?
It means our attenuation figures come from an independent acoustic facility, not from our own marketing. DEC Delft is a specialist acoustic test centre, and every SNR/NRR rating we publish is verified there. We test independently because the numbers should be honest. Combined with our audiologist-led development and the Red Dot Design Award 2026, it’s how we back the claim that Klar solves the hearing problem first and looks good second.
Are they safe to wear for 8 hours a day, every day?
Yes. Klar is designed by an audiologist specifically for sustained daily use, and the filters reduce harmful or distracting noise without fully isolating you. The products are built for non-stop wear and are reusable rather than disposable. To keep them comfortable and hygienic over the long term, wipe the tips with mild soap and water, let them dry fully, and store them in the case between uses.
What's your returns policy?
Every order is covered by 120-day returns and a 2-year warranty, with free shipping on orders over €50. Fit and feel are personal, so if your pair isn’t right, send it back within 120 days. If the issue is comfort or seal, reach out before returning, swapping to a different ear-tip size solves it for most people, and we’re happy to help you find the Klar that suits you.
